An Ode to Cupcakes Without Frosting

Please enjoy this ode to cupcakes without frosting....

Cupcakes, cupcakes, oh how I love thee
Made from that which I keep in my pantry
Cupcakes, cupcakes, so sickeningly sweet
You're all I long for when I wash my feet
Cupcakes, cupcakes, you tend to get messy
When offered one I will always say "Yessy!"
Cupcakes, cupcakes, without you I'd be lost
But this I know for sure: You I shall never frost!

Cupcake:  "a small cake baked in a paper container shaped like a cup, often with icing on top;  an attractive young woman"

Haha!  I love the second part of that definition.  It's so random.  Sort of like this post.

Hmmm....

So I'm pulling a Stacy Salvatori and wondering if this blog is even worth doing, since I base the success of said blog on comments!  I can count on my faithful Swoveland family readers, but aside from that I already feel this may be completely pointless :(  Stacy, where you at?!  And what about all you other people?  Come on now!

Anyway, as you can see, I posted my 30-week pregnancy pic.  I'm feeling like a big blob, so I can't even imagine what being 40 weeks pregnant will be like!! AGH!  I will cross that bridge when I get to it (that is, if I'm physically capable of crossing bridges at that point).  I go a week from Monday for my next check-up... it will be my 32-week appt (which really should be on that Friday in order to be the "official" 32-week appt, but that just didn't work out).  It seems like being in the "30's" should mean more exciting stuff happens at these appointments, but I guess nothing interesting even goes on until 36 weeks or later.  And by "interesting" I actually mean "invasion of personal space" but whatever.

I just got invitations to 2 of my showers (yay!) and they are both soooo cute!  I just love the way the invitations turned out and can't wait to have them in a scrapbook one of these days.  I always feel uncomfortable being the center of attention (bridal showers, the wedding itself, birthday parties, etc), but I know it'll be so much fun anyway because I can count it as being for Elise and not for me  :)  Plus, I can't wait to see all the adorable stuff SHE gets  :)   (Is that selfish?)

Okay I'm done with this boring post - You are dismissed & hereby ordered to leave a comment.

30 week appt & condo showing....

I had my 30-week appt today... everything's looking good and going well.  The baby's heart rate was 144, I measured 31 cm, and I'm up 29 lbs (aghhhh!!!)  :)  Some skinny pregnant chick came trotting into the waiting room wearing size 2 jeans, a cute sweater, and some XS top from wet seal.  I about puked.  But that's okay - I'm only 80 lbs heavier than she.  Haha!  I'm just glad I'll be having a summer baby so we can both get outside and walk walk walk.  That'll be great!

On a non-pregnancy related note:  Someone is coming to see our condo today.  Yay!  This is showing #2 (different people looking, though) so it's still exciting to get the place all ready to go.  I just wonder how many more months (dare I say years????) this will go on until it finally sells.  The actual thought of moving is sad, cause I LOVE living in our condo and LOVE downtown...  but I know we need to be in a house for practicality's sake.  And that will be lots of fun, too.  I just know I'll miss this place once the whole process is over.  That being said, please be praying anyway that the right buyer will come at the right time.

Well I guess I'll pack up the dogs (sounds like I'm putting them in a suitcase) and hit the road.  Thanks for "listening" and praying!

I'm an official blogger!

Well look who it is - ol' Elizabeth has finally joined the ranks of you fellow bloggers.  I can't say I'll ever have anything interesting to say, but I'll blog nonetheless - mostly to divulge all the info on the upcoming birth of baby Elise Lorraine Chapman  :)   This Friday marks the 30-week point for the pregnancy.  I can't believe I'm in the "30's" already, but to be honest, pregnancy has gone sooooo slooooowly for me so I can't even begin to imagine how slow the next 10 weeks will be.  I say that and know that a year from now I'll be wondering where all the time went!

I will now leave you in order to come up with a profile (or any of that other nonsense) for the blog - but I'll be back!

(This blog has been officially dedicated to Andrea along with her sister, Jessica, who was seemingly unable to blog a couple months ago due to a sick baby girl, but ironically found the time to blog when her little girl got even more sick this past week - See, Jess, blogging IS possible!  And I'm glad little Tessa is doing better!)  :)
